In a nutshell, we're a group of classically trained musicians who decided to focus on improvisation as our medium of choice. People who're willing to do it in this medium is rare, but we see it as the key to revitalizing a medium that has been in stagnation for a while now. We have the blessings of Yo-Yo-Ma, who is on the board of USC's Brain and Creativity Institute, whom has given us support for our early endeavors. Business-wise, our main advantage is that we can produce recordings and performances very fast using new recording technologies and our connections to world-class musical talent. We'd like to raise funds to do this full time and pursue new models of content creation, meaning, and distribution.
