About
We’re building a low-cost vital signs monitoring solution for low-acuity patients in the developing world. Our system consists of a vital signs monitor by each patient bed and an Android tablet for each doctor. We will also offer a responsive web application for patients’ families to check in on their status. Our monitors are low-cost custom hardware, and not meant to replace the monitors hospitals already use in the ICU or on high-risk patients. Our devices monitor lower-risk patients who would not have had monitoring otherwise. Our system offers value for hospitals as well as patients. We are selling our monitors at cost to hospitals, and using a usage-based revenue model. Doctors will offer our monitors to patients for a per-day fee (probably around $14). $7 per patient per day will go to us. For hospitals, nurse hours are reduced as patient monitoring is automated for a higher percentage of patients.
