Slyde Handboards is the first company to create and sell the hand-built epoxy designed handboard with a hand-strap. Before Slyde, surfers of all ages would often use assorted plastic food trays or even flip-flops to bodysurf with. For years, children in Polynesia were holding pieces of driftwood to plane across waves. Handboards were sold as far back as the 1970s and many surfers would shape their own. Slyde is more than a product. It is a global brand around the sport of budysurfing. “We are boundary pushers, open-minded sunburnt lovers of fun. We love the odd and applaud the alternative. We love doing things different and against the grain.
