personalRN (pRN) has developed HIPAA-compliant, patient-facing, mHealth apps to provide disease-specific, personalized content to improve health literacy in patients & caregivers. The immediate market includes hospitals in need of solutions to avoid Medicare's penalties related to readmissions & HCAHPS scores. StrokeApp is pRN’s first solution & will be followed by CardiApp. StrokeApp is designed as an iPad-based health coach or personal RN for patients & caregivers. From admission, it provides relevant education to coincide with changing clinical environments. The interactive, multimedia platform simplifies essential information, but expands in complexity based on user age, reading level & preferred learning pace. Enhanced education improves health literacy resulting in more compliance, better outcomes & less readmissions.
