Reoccurring factory disasters were drawing attention to worker’s appalling conditions and for decades these unethical issues were always just ‘swept under the rug.' Many brands work off a highly profitable business model where they contract with a remote manufacturer based on price with the hopes that the conditions they claim are actually fair or safe.
