About
Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy consisting of a ken (sword) and tama (ball) connected by a string. By catching the ball, spiking the ball, or balancing the ken, a huge variety of kendama tricks can be performed. It has recently surged in popularity in the United States. Kendama’s western renaissance has as much to do with video sharing as the toy itself. A trick may take a player hours to land, but once edited, players can share their trick instantly. Edits have become the most effective way to share your skills and get noticed. The level of competition is high, and barriers to entry are low. These videos are already going viral. Until the launch of Kendama Entertainment Network (K.E.N.) LLC, there is no one place to watch, share, and post kendama related media. K.E.N. seeks to centralize this audience, develop and expand it, analyze it, and ultimately groom it for sale to a multi-channel network.
