"Invisible Entrepreneurs"; that's the phrase we use to describe the countless numbers of individuals who own and operate businesses (often family or privately owned) that are denied access to mainstream accelerator programs because they will not earn Million or Billion dollar returns for potential investors. The increasingly money-centric culture of entrepreneurship is beginning to mandate that entrepreneurs Go Big or Go Home. If your business doesn't aspire to generate Millions or Billions of dollars in revenue, then you will likely be denied access to accelerator programs, angel and VC capital, various Crowd-funding platforms, etc. It seems that people are forgetting that Invisible Entrepreneurs are the foundation of local and regional economies and are in need of the same "acceleration" and support that is offered to Silicon Valley start-ups.
