"The Dane" is a psychological thriller filled with tension and supernatural twists. Set in the early 1500s in a castle fortress, it follows the cat and mouse game being played out as a 16 year old prince Hamlet attempts to survive the devious machinations of his ruthless uncle Claudius. This retelling of Shakespeare's classic does justice to the story, but also is designed to be accessible to a modern audience. And based on my research, has the potential to return a solid profit with proper marketing and distribution. ------------------ The prod. budget is approx. 12.5 million. There has been some interest in partial financing of up to 40% of that by a couple of production companies I have met with, if I can get the other 60%, depending on cast. ------------------ I have a talented crew onboard including an academy award winning production designer and the head of sound for Universal Studios. The goal is to approach cast formally after we have at least 20% financing.
