Blacklots was founded by the former Chairman of Phillips de Pury, London along with two internet entrepreneurs. As the first curated, 24-hour art auction platform for the resale and acquisition of contemporary art, Blacklots was one of the first new online art business to market in 2011. It utilizes the flash sale model to facilitate online art transactions in an expedited manner, at lower premiums and to a broader audience than traditional auction houses and dealers.
